Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how MaxSecure handles your information. MaxSecure helps you organize photos and videos. You can swipe photos into Trash and protect selected photos and videos with a PIN.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to MaxSecure and the related support interactions described below. It does not apply to websites, applications, or services operated by third parties, including Apple services, even if the App links to or relies on them.
2. Information the App Processes
2.1 Photos, videos, and related metadata
If you grant Photo Library permission, MaxSecure may access and process photos and videos and their available metadata on your device. Depending on the feature you use, this may include file size, media type, dimensions, creation date, duration, and visual characteristics needed to identify or organize items such as similar photos, blurry photos, screenshots, large photos, Live Photos, large videos, and screen recordings.
The App uses this information to display review categories, estimate reviewable storage, show previews, support your selections, and request actions that you confirm, such as adding, exporting, or deleting media.
2.2 Local analysis and app state
MaxSecure may store local indexes, category results, selection state, swipe decisions, temporary Trash state, storage estimates, and settings needed to provide the App’s features. These records are maintained on your device within the App’s local storage, subject to iOS controls.
2.3 Private Space content and PIN
When you choose to add photos or videos to Private Space, the App processes and stores the selected content locally in the App’s protected storage area. The App also stores information needed to verify the four-digit PIN you create. Private Space is not a remote backup or cloud-storage service operated by MaxSecure.
If you use the “Forgot PIN?” flow, iOS may ask you to authenticate with your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. Apple’s system authentication interface performs that verification. MaxSecure receives the result needed to continue the reset flow but does not receive your device passcode or biometric data.
2.4 Support communications
If you contact us, we may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots, and troubleshooting details. Please do not send photos, videos, PINs, device passcodes, or other sensitive content unless it is necessary and you are comfortable doing so.
2.5 Information handled by Apple
Apple distributes the App and provides operating-system functions such as Photo Library permissions, device authentication, and crash or diagnostic reporting. Apple may process information under its own terms and privacy policy. If you have chosen to share diagnostics with developers through Apple, we may receive limited diagnostic information made available by Apple, such as crash details, App version, device model, or operating-system version. Such reports are not intended to include your photo or video content.
2.6 Information we do not collect
When you use MaxSecure:
- you are not required to create a MaxSecure account;
- we do not operate a server-based photo, video, or Private Space backup for the App;
- we do not upload your photo or video content or local media-analysis results to MaxSecure servers;
- we do not receive your device passcode, Face ID data, or Touch ID data;
- we do not sell your personal information or use your media content for targeted advertising.
3. Permissions and Your Control
MaxSecure requests access only when a feature needs it. Photo Library access allows the App to review, display, add, export, and request deletion of photos and videos according to the level of access you choose in iOS. Device authentication may be requested when you use the PIN reset flow.
You can review or change permissions in iOS Settings. Restricting or revoking a permission may prevent the related feature from working. MaxSecure does not bypass Apple’s permission or deletion confirmation interfaces.
4. How We Use Information
Information is processed as necessary to:
- provide photo and video review, categorization, preview, selection, and cleanup features;
- provide Swipe review and maintain the temporary Trash state you create;
- provide Private Space, PIN verification, media import, export, and deletion controls;
- remember local settings and maintain App functionality;
- respond to support requests you initiate;
- diagnose crashes, protect the App, and comply with legal obligations where applicable.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, processing may be based on performance of the service you request, your consent (including system permissions), our legitimate interests in operating and securing the App, or compliance with law. You may withdraw permission through iOS Settings, but this does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
5. Local Processing and Disclosure
The App’s media analysis, category results, swipe state, Private Space content, and PIN-related data remain on your device. We therefore do not disclose that locally processed content to advertisers, data brokers, or MaxSecure-operated cloud services.
Other limited information may be disclosed only in the following circumstances:
- At your direction: when you export content, use Apple Photos, or otherwise choose to share information outside the App.
- Apple services: when Apple provides App distribution, device permissions, system authentication, or optional diagnostic reporting.
- Support providers: if you contact us using an email or support service, the provider may process your communication to deliver it.
- Legal and safety reasons: if disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect legal rights, safety, security, or the integrity of the App.
- Business transactions: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or transfer of assets, subject to applicable safeguards.
6. Retention and Deletion
Local analysis results, settings, swipe state, and Private Space content remain on your device until you remove them through available App controls, clear the App’s data, or uninstall the App, subject to iOS behavior and any device backups you control.
Deleting the App generally removes data in its local application container, including Private Space content, but it does not reverse actions already completed in Apple Photos. Photos or videos sent to the Recently Deleted album remain governed by Apple Photos and your iCloud settings. Content you exported or otherwise copied outside MaxSecure must be deleted from those locations separately.
Support correspondence and diagnostic information, if any, may be retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, troubleshoot, protect the service, or meet legal requirements.
7. Security
We use reasonable measures designed to protect information handled by MaxSecure. The App relies on iOS protections and uses a PIN gate for access to Private Space. However, no security measure is perfect. A four-digit PIN does not guarantee protection against every form of device compromise or unauthorized access.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, device passcode, and MaxSecure PIN. Do not share them with others. Private Space is not a substitute for an independent backup of important content.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to personal information, such as access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, or the right to complain to a data-protection authority. These rights may be subject to exceptions under applicable law.
Most information described in this Policy is stored only on your device and is not accessible to us. You can manage it using MaxSecure controls, iOS settings, Apple Photos, or by uninstalling the App. For information you have sent to support, you may submit a request using the contact information in Section 13. We may need to verify your request.
9. Children’s Privacy
MaxSecure is not directed to children under the age at which parental consent is required under applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can evaluate and address the request.
10. International Processing
Media content and core feature data described in this Policy are processed locally on your device. If you contact support or Apple provides diagnostic information, that limited information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, appropriate safeguards will be used for such transfers.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
MaxSecure relies on Apple platform functions and may contain links that open third-party services. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for how third parties process information outside MaxSecure.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App, our practices, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version and update the “Last updated” date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or request consent before a material change takes effect.
